These are a couple of menus for The Bowery…a cocktail bar in Brisbane.
We created backgrounds from old books, the back of wallpaper, vintage receipts
…the idea was to create a very economic print on a stock standard paper.
Using these backgrounds gave the impression that the menus were printed on collected memorabilia that tied in well with the ‘speakeasy’ feel of the bar.
The Laneway is a rooftop bar in Brisbane that we named and branded.
This typographic piece was designed to be used across the collateral and as part of the architecture.
Based on the work of Rosalie Gascoigne…we dirtied the arrangements up a bit to read…GIVE HEAD SLOWLY, RACK UP, SWOON…
The Press Club menus.
We created this brand back in 2000…after researching cigar labels.
Press Club, journalists…etc.
The menus are simply an enlarged version of the brand printed onto a chunky uncoated stock and embossed.
The ever changing internal menus can then just be printed and saddle stitched within this cover.
